Kindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of School

Last Friday, our clever Kindy kids celebrated a very special milestone — the 100th Day of School! And what a celebration it was!

The day began with a warm and cozy treat: a cup of Milo and a biscuit in the staffroom to fuel up our little centenarians. From there, the fun really began!

Back in the classroom, we jumped into all things “100.” We brainstormed 100 words about being 100 (yes, 100!), and imagined what life might be like if we were 100 years old and could do anything we liked. The ideas were as brilliant as they were hilarious — from riding roller coasters at Disneyland to enjoying a calm morning tea in the park with friends.

Then it was time to get moving — we tackled 100 exercises in sets of 10: push-ups, star jumps, lunges… and more! Who knew 100 could be so active?

To celebrate our hard work, we enjoyed a delicious High Tea in the classroom — complete with fairy bread, cupcakes, party pies, sausage rolls, and of course, lemonade. Despite their "old age," our Kindy grandmas and grandpas had the best manners you’ve ever seen!

We even found time to count to 100 — by 1s, 5s, and 10s — and wow, were these little learners impressive!

After all that excitement, we wound down with a quiet movie and some sweets. By the end of the day, our tiny centenarians (and their teacher!) were well and truly ready for a nap.

A huge thank you to all the parents for your help with the fabulous costumes — every child looked amazing and added so much to the magic of the day.

Here's to being 100 days smarter — and having a blast while doing it!

NAIDOC day Report - Jen Allen

On Wednesday the 31st of July, NAIDOC day was celebrated with myself, students and staff members.

We had a fun filled day starting off with the aboriginal lords prayer and having activities such as a coloring competition and well done to those that produced great works of art. The students also produced some bracelets and keyrings from bead work. Dreaming stories were made by the students and we are hoping to make a book out of these for the future students to see. Lunch time ran a little late with a sausage sizzle and I would like to thank everybody for a great day and to the awesome EA’s that helped out. Mrs Harrison, Mrs Laurie and Mrs Clark you guys rock! I would like to add a dreaming story that was written by Ellody Hoy in Year 5.

The rainbow serpent has shown its true self.

                                               By Ellody Hoy.

In the dream time there was the cranky ,mean serpent.

She had a dark soul well that is what most people thought. She never ever spoke to the other animals. But inside she had a kind soul and was never cranky at her mother earth. She was alone and at that time she  was always talking to her mother in a calm, soft voice ‘’Mother earth im scared that if i show them my true self they will judge me .  ’’ Mother earth didn’t just say well don’t do it Mother earth said this ‘‘My child never be afraid im always with you ,ill never let them hurt you because im your mother earth and i will protect you.’’The  serpent confidence built up she started to think it might be bad but not very bad because mother

Earth will be with me the entire time .The next day she woke up thinking about why there mad at her .She remembered the day when she was little they were young and there was a feast and the serpent ate all the food and there was none left for themselves.Since that day they never talked to the serpent from that day on. One day she woke up feeling like today was the day she was going to tell her friends that she was sorry and that she brought food for everyone and she will show her true colours and self. She went and went till she saw them. She took a deep breath. “ Mother please make sure you look after me. I'm nervous and I dont want to do it but I know that I have to do it. It's the right thing to do.”  She walked over and got a bunch of glares from her old friend

“Can we help you, serpent?” kangaroo asked with wonder

“I’m sorry for eating all the food when we were young, I’m just scared if you are going to judge me about this”

BooooM!

The serpent's colours that were inside burst out.

“Wow. You're like the rainbow serpent!” Koala burst out.

‘I hope you can forgive me”

They whispered and the rainbow serpent had many friends now, and they ate the food she brought and while they were eating she talked to her mother.

“Thankyou Mother, Thankyou so much” she gasped and ran off to join her other friends. The end

This teaches us to not be greedy and get out of our comfort  zone and to always be nice.
