Turn boring to FUN with COMMUNICATION

Everyone communicates differently.

At Naranga we use our speech, AAC apps, gestures, sign language, pictures and more to say what we want to say.  In particular, some of our students have been using iPads to learn to communicate new words and ideas.

At home, there are opportunities for communication everywhere, even with some of the most boring tasks (like doing the laundry!).  Here are some ideas of ways you could model language to encourage communication during different activities.

Sometimes it can be hard to know how best to support your child's communication. But every time you connect with what your child is saying, every time you wait for them, every time you model something new, you are making a difference. Your child is developing their voice - and we can't wait to hear what they have to say next!
