Only 17 school days to go!

Dear students, families and carers,

There are only 17 school days remaining in term 4!  Don't forget that next Tuesday is a pupil-free day.  Teachers will be finalising end of year reports and preparing for Student Support Group meetings scheduled for December 4-8th.  Please ensure you book in for the final SSG meeting of the school year.  Its a valuable opportunity to hear about all of the progress your child has made this year and start to consider priorities for the next school year.

Next week is our final week for our year 12 students.  The past three days, Pathways students had a series of adventure week activities based on a 'City, Community, Country' theme.  They started with a visit to the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, then fish and chips at the beach and finally a visit to Healesville Sanctuary yesterday.  Next Wednesday night is our graduation ceremony and dinner, one of my favourite school events of the year.  Finally, Friday 1st December is the last day for our graduating students.  I love the graduation night.  It is so great to see how proud and excited our graduates are to be moving  on to the next stage of life.  I enjoy chatting with the grads and their families about their school journey.  We often reflect on some tough times when they were younger and how we worked together to overcome those barriers.  Its always great to hear about the individual post-school pathway that has been designed for them by our skilled Pathways team members.

For our younger students, there have been transition activities already occurring across the school.  These are designed to support a smooth transition from Lower Juniors to Upper Juniors, or from Juniors to Seniors.  These will culminate on the state-wide transition day on December 12.  On this day, all the students will learn who their teacher and classmates will be next year.  We will also welcome any new students who will be enrolling for next year.

Its an exciting time of the year!  Christmas will be here before you know it.
