End of Year Message

These last few weeks of the school year have been an absolute hive of activity. We've seen all year levels undertake their Step-Up program, essentially seeing them commence their 2026 subjects ensuring a settled and positive start to the school year when we all return in January.
Our Year 7s finished up the year with Roses Gap camp in the Grampians which was postponed from Term 1. We welcomed our incoming Year 7s on the Statewide Orientation Day with a full day at school experiencing a number of subject areas, getting to know their fellow students and teachers and familiarising themselves with the school grounds.
We've also shared in the success of our Year 12 cohort who received their results last week. We're so immensely proud of every one of our graduating VCE and VM cohort and will be keeping a close eye on what they go on to do beyond secondary school.
Rounding out the year, last night we celebrated student effort and achievement at the College Presentation Night. Putting aside the warm conditions, it was a wonderful evening celebrating so many of our students and what they've achieved throughout the year. We were treated to two beautiful vocal/musical performances by Emily S and Mikayla A at the events. A full honour roll will be published on our website in due course.
Looking ahead to 2026, as a college, we're excitedly anticipating the completion of the Trades Hub facility and seeing this occupied and timetabled for classes ASAP.
As we close for the year, please take note of the staggered return to school for the 2026 school year and other important dates listed on the college calendar on the next page.
As a staff, we wish everyone in our school community a safe, happy and rejuvenating summer break, and for those that celebrate, a very Merry Christmas. We wish you all a happy new year and we look forward to seeing you in 2026.
Kind Regards,
The Staff of Gisborne Secondary College
