From the Principal

With September just around the corner, we are excited to welcome the start of spring. Next week, from Tuesday 1st September, all students are required to wear a school hat when outside. Students without a hat will be asked to play in shaded areas in accordance with our Sun Protection policy. Please ensure your child's hat is clearly named and packed in their bag each day.

Grade 6 camp

Our Grade 6 students travelled to Sovereign Hill and Creswick on Wednesday for their final primary school camp. Throughout the camp, students participated in a range of engaging activities, strengthened friendships, and created lasting memories that will stay with them well beyond their primary school years. While no large gold nuggets were discovered, the experience was rich in adventure and fun. Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers whose support and commitment helped make the camp such a success.

Basketball Gala Day

Congratulations to our girls' and boys' basketball teams for their outstanding performances at the Kingston Schools Basketball Competition on Monday. Both teams demonstrated teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day, progressing through all their matches undefeated to earn a place in their respective grand finals. The grand final games were incredibly close contests. Despite giving their all and competing right to the final whistle, both teams were narrowly defeated by just one point.

Prime Minister's Spelling Bee Success

Congratulations to all our Grade 3-6 students who participated in the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, dedication and spelling achievements. A special congratulations goes to our four students who have successfully progressed to the State Finals.

2027 School Year

If you have a child in Foundation to Year 5 who will not be returning to PPS next year, could you please inform the office or the class teacher via email ASAP.  This will assist with planning for class structures and staffing for 2027.

Parent/Carer 2026 Opinion Survey

The 2026 Parent/Carer Opinion Survey is now open and will remain available online until Friday 18 September 2026. All families have been invited to participate via Compass. The survey is completed online, takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at a time that is convenient for you using a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. We encourage all families to share their feedback, as it plays an important role in helping us continue to improve our school.

Donations

We will be hosting a Colour Run/Walk-a-Thon fundraiser in Term 4 and are seeking support from our wonderful community. As part of the event, we would love to offer prizes to our participants. If you, your family, friends, or any local businesses can donate vouchers or prizes, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. No voucher or prize is too small; every donation helps make this event exciting and rewarding for our students!

If you’re able to help, please get in touch. Thank you so much for your support.

Kind regards

Leanne Bradney
