Celebrations of Learning and Community

Year 10 Mini Market

Our Year 10 Business Mini Market was a huge success, and it was wonderful to see our students’ hard work, creativity and enthusiasm come to life! The market was buzzing with activity, featuring food stalls that sold out in record time, inspiring and creative products, exciting auctions and fun games. Students did an amazing job putting their business skills into practice, from marketing and budgeting to customer service and sales. Most importantly, it was lovely to see how proud they were of what they had achieved and the businesses they had worked so hard to create.

Even more special was the opportunity to make a difference in the community, with students raising over $550 for the McGrath Foundation. A huge congratulations to all our Year 10 Business students for their efforts, entrepreneurial spirit and generosity. We are incredibly proud of what they have accomplished, and we hope to see the Mini Market grow bigger and better next year!

Performing Arts Academy Showcase

Well done to our Performing Arts Academy students on their incredible showcase last night. There were performances from all our students in the academy, ranging from group dances to group vocals, duets, and solo performances. It was an impressive showcase of talent from our students. Thank you to Ms Hale, our Academy leader, for her hard work and all the other staff who helped support the evening. A big shout-out to our students and community who came along and cheered our students on as they performed.

Official Netball Court Opening

This morning, we proudly celebrated the official opening of our new netball courts, a significant milestone for our College community. The occasion marked the culmination of extensive planning and development, resulting in a modern facility that will enhance sporting opportunities for our students for years to come.

Students, staff, and special guests gathered to mark the occasion and witness the unveiling of the plaque. The new facilities provide a high-quality space for physical education lessons, training sessions, and interschool competitions, supporting student wellbeing, teamwork, and skill development. It also supports our Hazel Glen Netball Club as a base for their training.

We are excited to see our students make the most of these fantastic new courts and look forward to the many sporting achievements, memorable matches, and community events they will host in the future. The opening of the netball courts reflects our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding learning and recreational environments that enrich the experiences of all students.

Music Lab Incursion

Today, our Year 7-10 students participated in an engaging and interactive Music Lab Incursion, exploring the fascinating history and science of sound. The incursion examined the important role sound plays across a range of disciplines, including engineering, physics, psychology, and music, giving students a unique opportunity to see the connections between science, technology, and creativity.

Students used this new knowledge to create their own experiment during the incursion and turn the resulting data into music and sound. The day was filled with curiosity, experimentation, and creativity, and students thoroughly enjoyed discovering how data, technology, and music can come together to produce unique and exciting outcomes. We thank the Music Lab presenter for delivering such an inspiring and educational experience.

Minister's Youth Roundtable

Our Vice Captain, Olivia, along with other students from across Victoria, were among roughly 25 students who sat with the Minister in the Government Party Room.

The discussion covered a broad range of topics including bullying, the environment, and opportunities for young people in rural and regional areas.

Another major point of discussion was AI, and how the rising prevalence of AI presents a very different world for young people – both in the classroom and beyond.
