Welcome to Year 6. We welcome all children and their families to Year 6 following what we hope has been a wonderful Christmas and holiday filled with fun, family time and some rest and relaxation.
Each Year 6 student has a Foundation student/s as a “buddy”. Throughout the year, we will join our buddies in many activities from having lunch with them to art, craft and sporting activities. This interaction enables the senior students to display supportive leadership skills, and the Foundation students experience reassurance, care and support from the “big kids”.
As leaders of our school, all students are expected to be in the correct uniform at all times. This includes no makeup, nail polish, or jewellery, other than that permitted in the school’s uniform policy. Headbands and hair ties are only to be in uniform colours. As per the uniform policy, any hair that falls beyond the collar, must be tied up at school. Runners and non-branded socks are part of a sports uniform and may only be worn on the designated sports days unless otherwise notified. Fully black runners are allowed with regular summer uniforms, but they must be fully black and worn with navy socks. Students are required to bring a note if they are out of uniform, or alternatively parents can email us to let us know. Sports uniform days for Year 6 are Monday and Friday.
Next week, we begin our swimming program on Tuesday, with lessons on Tuesday-Friday. Children will need to bring bathers, towel, pool shoes, goggles and a bag for their wet clothes. Please ensure that all your child’s clothing is clearly labelled.
Kind regards,
Luke Crameri, Holly Ryan, Rachelle Mangan, Rhys Zera
