Dear Families,

We're nearing the end of Term 2 - I hope you enjoyed the mini break last weekend with the King's Birthday Long Weekend and Curriculum Day. While the students were at home, the staff were all at school on Tuesday participating in Professional Development.

For the past three years we have partnered with Real Schools to work with us on School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS). SWPBS is featured in many Victorian government schools and is a framework that shapes how we create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, staff and families. We spent Tuesday refining how we hit that 'sweet spot' in our classrooms, building on collaboration, trust and confidence.

This long weekend break was also a chance to celebrate the success of our students as we wrapped up the Term 2 Achievement Week. The data collected from this week helps us with the Semester One reports (available at the start of the last week of term), as well as forming goals for the students as we get ready for the second half of the year.

Speaking of the end of the term, Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June from 3:30pm to 6pm.All of our teachers really appreciate the opportunity to meet with the families, and students where possible, to discuss the progress they have made so far this year and where they should be focussing for the rest of 2026. Please make sure you book online as soon as possible through Compass. Of course, if you need assistance the Office Team are more than happy to help.

Prep 2027 - Preparing our Little Learners

Prep enrolments for next year are open, and we are so happy to see Albanvale PS is a school of choice within our community. At this stage, we have decided to open an additional class to maintain a smaller classes in Prep for next year. This means we have 11 more places on offer for next year so if you know of anyone looking to enrol at school, please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible.

Our school readiness program has been such a success we've had to increase the days we run it. Our excellent educators run the program for those pre-enrolled for Albanvale next year to help get them ready for school, as well as give them a head start with their literacy and numeracy. These sessions run for one hour weekly through out the school term and are completely free.

If you have a child due to start Prep next year (or know someone who does) I strongly encourage you to pre-enrol as soon as possible so they can experience the fun and advanage of Little Learners. Tours are also availble for those who want to learn more about to the Albanvale Advantage - just contact the office to organise a time.

Before I sign off I wanted to let you know I will be heading away on leave for the remainder of Term Two. While Albanvale PS will be immersing themselves in World Cup Fever (you can see which teams each class are supporting in the newsletter) I will be getting a first hand experience watching the Socceroos by flying over to the United States with my family for the event. The school will be in the more than capable hands of Luisa Liong, our Assistant Principal, while I'm gone who will be supported by our leading teachers and amazing staff here at Albanvale.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the start of Term 3.

Achieve Excellence, Together.
