What's Happening in

Grade 5/6

John Paul College invited the grade 5/6s to a day of science and food tech. In one of their science labs, we made some elephant's toothpaste, which involved mixing chemicals that created a crazy reaction!

We then visited the food tech and made pizza muffins. We had to prepare our ingredients,  put on any toppings we wanted and bake them in an oven.  They were so yummy!

Then, about three weeks late,r we were invited to watch their production of The Little Mermaid! It was amazing.

The costumes were amazing, and we loved their singing and acting. We even saw some past students on the stage!

Report from Nanette and Paisley!

Interschool Sport

For the first half of this term, we have been competing against other schools in Football, Soccer and Netball in the Interschool Sports program. Sometimes we travel by bus to the venue or use our Oval, Gym and Frankston East Primary School Oval. We went to Bayside Christian College, then we played Frankston Heights and St Augustine’s here at St John’s. We had our final game against Woodleigh, at Woodleigh.

Inter-school sports aren’t just about playing games. They’re about building teamwork, learning resilience, and showing respect for our teammates, our coaches, and even our opponents. We’ve had a mix of results with the teams, however, every team improved with practice and teamwork.

The Interschool Sports Program finished with a Lightning Premiership at Ballam Park and Jubilee Park last week, with Saint John’s Primary School representing our school well and with good sportsmanship.
