Principal's Report

Dear students, families and carers,

This week has been full of special events!  All of these activities have created some great positive energy to lift us into the final two weeks of term.  On Thursday the whole school dressed in bright colours to recognise our Day of Action Against Violence and Bullying. The whole school took part in a parade to show unity and demonstrate that there is no place for bullying in our school community.  Students also enjoyed a hot chocolate with a friend at lunchtime.  Several of our Student Representative Councillors helped to make and hand out the hot chocolate.  The WHAT BUS from Frankston Youth Services also paid us a visit on the day.  I know this helped our students build some links to our local community.

Next week there is more events planned.  Student Support Group meetings will be happening across the week.  Don't forget that Wednesday is a pupil-free day set aside to give families more options for SSG meeting times as the evenings are so busy for many of you.  Thursday 7th is our annual Footy Colours Day. This is one of our most popular events and I'm looking forward to the whole school dressing up to show their colours.  And running right through the week is our Book Fair.  If you are on site for an SSG meeting, be sure to pop into the Library to check out the selection of books to purchase.

Our amazing Art teacher Pia Riley finished up at Naranga School last Friday.  Pia has left for a new and exciting opportunity in another school.  We wish her all the best in this new venture.  I wanted to personally thank Pia for all of her contributions to our school over the years. Pia was a wonderful teacher and she will be missed.

Have a great weekend and please come in and say hello if you are in the school for a Student Support Group meeting next week.

ONE WEEK TO GO IN THE PARENT/CAREGIVER/GUARDIAN OPINION SURVEY

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.  Information on how to access the survey can be obtained from the Office.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
