Human Society and its Environment

Juniors and Seniors have enjoyed the last few weeks of term and have transitioned smoothly into the geography content that will run for terms 3 and 4. See some of the classwork that has been completed in various classes over the last few weeks: 

 

Year 7 demonstrating tectonic plate movement using Oreo cookies.

Year 8 have been learning about population pyramids. Mrs. Gardner’s class participated in some hands-on learning and replicated different population pyramids out of lego. 

 

Year 9 have been learning about how different biomes produce different kinds of foods. This lesson they mapped out the countries that were well known for producing certain foods. 

 

Year 10 have been learning about contour maps and how they work. For this lesson they created their own mountains to illustrate the different contours.
