Student Leadership

Incoming School Captains 2024

We are thrilled to announce the incoming School Captains for the academic year 2024 at Camden High School. After a rigorous selection process, we have chosen four exceptional individuals who will serve as the leaders of our school community.

It is with great pride that we introduce the following students as the incoming School Captains for 2024:

  • Angelina
  • Sophia
  • Tiarna
  • Amber

As School Captains, they will have the opportunity to represent our school at various events, serve as ambassadors of our values, and act as a voice for the student body. They will work closely with the faculty, administration, and student council to foster a sense of unity, inclusivity, and excellence within our school community.

We have no doubt that all four students will excel in their roles and continue to uphold the high standards set by previous School Captains. Their leadership, dedication, and integrity will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our school community.

We also want to acknowledge all the students who participated in the selection process. Your commitment, enthusiasm, and leadership potential were truly impressive. We encourage each and every one of you to continue to pursue leadership opportunities and contribute to the growth and success of our school community.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Angelina, Sophia, Tiarna, and Amber for being selected as our incoming School Captains for 2024. We have no doubt that they will lead with distinction and make a lasting impact on our school.

Wear It Purple Day

On Friday the 25th of August Camden High celebrated Wear it Purple Day. This annual event provided our school community with an opportunity to come together and show our support for diversity, inclusion, and acceptance.

Wear it Purple Day is a global movement that originated in Australia and has since spread to schools, workplaces, and communities worldwide. The aim of this day was to promote the message that every young person has the right to be proud of who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

At Camden High School, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels safe, respected, and valued. Wear it Purple Day provided a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth and to promote visibility and acceptance within our school community.

Wear it Purple Day was not only an occasion to show solidarity with LGBTQ+ individuals but also an opportunity to reinforce the values of empathy, respect, and inclusivity that we strive to instill in our students. By participating in this event, we aimed to cultivate an environment where every individual can feel safe, accepted, and celebrated for who they truly are.

Jersey Day and Jeans for Genes Day

We are delighted to look back on the successful charity event that took place on Friday the 1st of September, where we joined forces to raise awareness and support for two worthy causes: Jersey Day and Jeans for Genes Day.

Jersey Day, an initiative aimed at promoting organ donation awareness, encouraged our school community to wear their favourite sports jerseys as a symbol of solidarity and support for individuals awaiting organ transplants or those who have generously donated organs to save lives.

Simultaneously, Jeans for Genes Day sought to raise funds and awareness for children living with genetic disorders, encouraging participants to wear jeans and make a donation towards vital research and support programs.

Throughout the day, our school was a vibrant display of team spirit and compassion. Students, teachers, and staff arrived adorned in an array of jerseys, proudly representing their favourite sports teams, while others sported their most fashionable jeans. The sea of colours and denim served as a visual reminder of our collective commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Together, we made a tangible impact by raising awareness, funds, and fostering a deeper understanding of organ donation and genetic disorders. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the students, parents, and staff who actively participated and supported this charity event. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to making a difference were truly inspiring.

Youth Community Service Award – Order of Australia Association

We are thrilled to announce that our very own school captain, Sam, has been awarded the prestigious Youth Community Service Award by the NSW Branch of the Order of Australia Association. This award acknowledges the commendable service Sam has provided to our local community throughout his high school journey.

The Youth Community Service Award is granted annually to senior high school students in NSW who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to serving their communities. Sam's passion, leadership, and selflessness have truly made a positive impact on those around him.

Please join me in congratulating Sam on this outstanding achievement. His commitment to community service serves as an inspiration to all of us. We are fortunate to have such an exceptional role model within our school community.
