ST ANNE’S LAPS FOR LIFE: The Big Water Walk

Every day, 292 million people around the world walk 30 minutes or more just to collect water.

This means not everyone has access to clear water in the their home that comes out taps. They don’t have toilets that they can flush.

Because these people have to walk for 30 minutes a day to get water we have decided to join the Caritas ‘The Big Water Walk’ campaign. The money we raise will help countries have access to fresh water and help in other ways that are on the posters that you will see around the school.

Our student leaders invite you to get up early, give up playing on the playground before school and join us walking on Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30am -8.50am.

We will be collecting money using this link for online donations https://www.projectcompassion.org.au/fundraisers/stannesprimaryschoolseaford

we will also bring around caritas boxes for coins.

During Lent we think about how we can help others and make sacrifices. Maybe children could do a job at home to earn some money to bring to put into the caritas box, maybe they could give up having a lunch order and put that money in the caritas box. Please chat with your child.

Families are very welcome to join us for walking.
