Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have  served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

Congratulations to Rosie Dow (Grade 3/4JC) and one of our past students, Erin McKenzie (St. Anne’s student) who will star in a new Andrew Chinn song being released this week! The song is called “Pilgrims of Hope” and will be used by hundreds of schools next year. Pope Francis has declared 2025 a “Year of Jubilee” and the theme for the year is “Pilgrims of Hope!”

Rosie and Erin also feature in the video which accompanies the song!

I hope to play the song at Assembly next Monday!!

Reminder NEWS!

Zooper Dooper Thursdays for St. Vinnie’s

Each year, St. Mary’s School supports the St. Vinnie’s Christmas Giving Tree.

To raise funds for gifts, the Grade Six Social Justice Team will be selling Zooper Doopers each Thursday in:

Week 6 (November 14th),

Week 7 (November 21st)

Week 8 (November 28th) at 50 cents each.

The money collected will be divided amongst the Social Justice Team members, who will then shop for gifts to go under our tree.

Donations of gifts for the St. Vinnie’s Giving Tree will be called for at the beginning of December so if you are able to support this appeal, please keep this in mind when Christmas shopping!

“Along the Track” article.

The latest edition of “Along the Track” entitled “Saying Goodbye” is attached to today;’s newsletter.

“What happens after death is something we really don’t know all that much about, so we speculate. For some death is the end of it all. For others, reincarnation allows us to live on. For others, heaven provides us with hope, an answer.”

This interesting article is well worth a read and may be found below.
