YEAR 5&6 WINTER SPORT
Our Winter Sport program has been a highlight of many of our Year 5&6 students this term. It’s provided lots of opportunities for gameplay, team-strategising, sport positional learning and getting to meet our neighbouring schools. A massive thank you to all our supportive parents that have given up their Friday afternoon to support the program by either umpiring or helping as a support. Our teachers; Mr Tyndall, Miss Lennon, Miss Bourke and Mrs Thompson are very grateful to you all!
This week is an Intra-school round, so we’re holding Lightning Premiership try-outs for our three upcoming tournaments of soccer, netball and AFL football. Students will either walk to Hurlingham Park to trial for football or soccer or remain at school to trial for netball or participate in netball games if they’re not trialing for any tournaments.
* FOOTBALL TRIALEES: MUST bring a mouthguard – no mouthguard, no play
*SOCCER TRIALEES: MUST wear shin guards (byo, or borrow school ones)
GOOD LUCK TO OUR
DIVISION XC RUNNERS
Wishing our five students; Sadie H (Yr 4), Jensen O (Yr 4), Oliver D (Yr 5), Seb S (Yr 5) and Ryder B (Yr 6) all the very best for next Tuesday, as they head to Bald Hill Park to participate in the Beachside Division Cross Country event. All five students placed in the top 8 at Districts a few weeks ago, qualifying for this next level of competition. Thank you to their parents for taking their child to this event. We have no doubt they’ll all give it their best and themselves and our school proud!
FOOTY TIME - GIRLS AFL-9
Today, fourteen of our Year 5 & 6 girls have had an exciting day, participating in the Dendy District Girls AFL-9 tournament down at William St. Reserve in Brighton. This is the first year this competition has been offered to our students. Many thanks to Miss Hill and Mr Mills for coaching the team over the day and we look forward to hearing all about their experience tomorrow!
