Principal's Report

External Validation
Every four years, every public, high and central schools in NSW undertake a process of evaluating themselves against the School Excellence Framework. Evidence is then gathered and annotated to confirm the school's on-balance judgement on where they sit against the elements in the framework. Uralla Central School has completed this process, and we will meet a panel of 2 external colleagues from other areas/schools in the Department of Education to have a professional discussion about our findings. This will occur on Tuesday of next week. We will then develop some future directions for our school to move forward and embed these into our new school plan. I look forward to providing you all with feedback about out validation panel discussion soon.

This is wonderful opportunity for Jackson and we wish him all the best for his trip and look forward to hearing about his success on his return.
P&C Meetings - Online
The P&C held their first online meeting recently as part of a trial for Term 2 and 3. The group are hoping that more families will be able to join their meetings without having to leave their homes, particularly during the colder/darker months in Term 2 and 3. If you would like to join in the meetings, please email urallapandc@gmail.com to get a link to join in the meeting. The next meeting will be held on Monday 15 June from 6pm.
Year 6-7 Transition Day
Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming 24 Year 6 students for our Year 6 into 7 Transition Day. It was a fantastic day filled with engaging activities, new friendships, and important insights into what to expect in Year 7.
The students participated enthusiastically and made the most of the opportunity to experience life at our school, meet teachers, and get a taste of the exciting journey ahead. They attended lessons in science, woodwork, food tech and sports, even making and cooking their own lunches.
Our next transition day will be held in Term 4. We would also like to remind families that if you have any enrolment enquiries or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Farewell Michelle
Tomorrow we will farewell Michelle Koina as she embarks on a new role at another local school. Michelle has been an invaluable member of our school as our Student Support Officer and her dedication to student wellbeing has shaped, inspired, and supported so many lives. Michelle’s passion for helping young people has been evident in everything she does. She has played a pivotal role in launching new wellbeing initiatives at Uralla Central School and has tirelessly championed student voice, making sure every child feels heard and valued. Michelle will be deeply missed by staff, students, and families and we wish her all the very best in her new role. Keep in touch Michelle!
Public Education Surveys
We invite all students, staff, and parents to participate in the Public Education Surveys. These surveys provide valuable feedback that helps us improve our school community and the educational experience for everyone.
Two weeks ago, opt-out notes were sent home to families who did not wish for their children to participate in the surveys. Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous, ensuring all responses are confidential.
Parents who wish to complete the survey can do so via the following link: Survey Login
We appreciate your time and input and look forward to sharing the survey results with the school community later in the year.
