Aquanation Project Works

As you may be aware, Maroondah City Council will be undertaking significant infrastructure renewal works at Aquanation's aquatic facilities from Thursday 1 October 2026, with staged re-openings commencing from February 2027.

These important works will help ensure Aquanation continues to provide safe, reliable and enjoyable experiences for our community for many years to come.

What does this mean for Ringwood Swimming Club?

As a result of these works, there will be no access to any aquatic areas at Aquanation during the closure period.

This places the existing lane space across  Aquahub and Croydon Memorial at a premium, and we have worked closely with Maroondah Council to retain the lane space needed to continue training.  We can confirm that all Ringwood Swimming Club training sessions have been successfully accommodated at Croydon Memorial Pool for the duration of the closure. In addition, we are currently exploring and negotiating lane space at one or two additional facilities to further support our training program during this period.

Importantly, all RSC squads will continue to train throughout this period. Training locations may vary depending on squad allocations and lane availability; however, our commitment is to ensure that every swimmer continues to have access to quality training opportunities.

We will communicate the full training timetable as soon as the additional lane space has been finalised and all arrangements have been confirmed.

Croydon Memorial Pool is located approximately 13 minutes from Aquanation and will operate with extended hours throughout the closure period to accommodate additional users. The pool will also open earlier than usual for the season to ensure our training program can continue uninterrupted.

We understand that these temporary arrangements may require some adjustments for our swimmers and families, and we sincerely thank you for your flexibility, patience and understanding during this time.

The Committee, and coaching team have been working hard behind the scenes to secure suitable training venues and minimise disruption to our members. We remain committed to providing a positive training environment and supporting our swimmers to continue progressing towards their goals.
