As we return from what I hope has been a well-earned and restorative break, I want to acknowledge the sustained effort and professionalism that has characterised your leadership across what has already been a demanding year. The opportunity to pause over the holiday period is critical, and I trust it has provided some time to reset ahead of this term.

As schools resume, it is clear that the broader industrial landscape remains active, with further developments occurring over the holiday period. For many, this continues to present a level of complexity that sits outside the normal core business of leading a school, adding another layer to an already complex role. Please be assured that the Australian Principals Federation remains firmly focused on supporting members through this period. Our priority is to ensure that you are equipped with clear, practical guidance to navigate these circumstances while maintaining safe, orderly and effective school operations. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

he EBA negotiating team continues to meet with the Department and remains firmly focused on progressing the priorities outlined in our Log of Claims. While discussions have been constructive and are now occurring with greater frequency, the absence of a revised offer means the team is actively considering next steps to maintain momentum and ensure the voice of the Principal Class is clearly articulated and strongly represented.

It is essential that members remain informed, engaged and aligned as this process continues. A further update will be provided later this week outlining our current position and the proposed path forward.

I also want to take the time to remind you of the services of the Principal Support Unit (PSU).  The PSU provides expert advice and support on complex human resource and workforces issues. Jonelle White heads up the team and is happy to make school visits and provide confidential, tailored guidance and workshops to principal class officers and principal networks to address common human resource challenges. Jonelle can assist with the interpretation of the Departments human resource policies, the industrial agreement, workforce planning and managing performance. The PSU, can be contacted on 7022 1020 or 0402 436 330

Regards,
