Specialists

Our specialist lessons remain the same for Term 2. These take place on the following days:

Monday – Performing Arts on a fortnightly rotation (even weeks)

Tuesday – Physical Education (PE)

Wednesday – STEM & Visual ArtsFriday – Italian on a fortnightly rotation (odd weeks)

Please note: This means that all Foundation students need to wear their sports uniforms on Tuesday (for PE).

Foundation students will also continue participating in our PMP program on Mondays and Wednesdays. 

Library Day

All Foundation students will be visiting the library every Friday. During this time they will be allowed to borrow one library book that they can read at home over the week and change the following week.

Take Home Reading

During Term 2, all students will continue to take home heart words (new ones sent home as they are learnt in class) and one book each week for reading. Books sent home are a stage below the new sounds we are learning in the classroom, as this allows students to build fluency and confidence with familiar sounds, which is a key indicator of future reading success. Books at each stage contain all sounds and heart words learnt within that stage - students need to have learnt all sounds within a stage and be confident using these in single words and short phrases before we move onto the books at that stage. 

We will also continue to send a picture chat with a matching set of question prompts for you to discuss over the week. We ask that you read with your child every night and fill in the reading journal; these will be monitored at school.

Swimming Program 2026

The swimming program for Years F-4 begins Monday 27th April, with the last day being Wednesday 6th of May. Don’t forget that swimming caps are compulsory. Please label all clothing and if you can help at the pool you must have a current Working With Children’s Check.
