A Message from Parents & Friends
Hi everyone,
Brrrr….. what a chilly day. The colder months are making themselves well known that’s for sure. But we’re not going to let that dampen our fundraising spirit! Here’s an update from us about what’s been happening.
Last Term re-cap
Last term was busy from a school event perspective. We had our wonderful Harmony Week bake sale. Our school community really did go all out with the baking and even more so with buying all the treats available. With thanks, we made $1852.80.
Our community also chowed down on a Subway lunch which saw us make a profit of $471.70. We also had our wonderful Colour Explosion where made over $30,000 in profit.
In our last week of term we had our Hot Cross Bun sale where lots of you bought enough to keep you going until next Easter! Thanks to you, we raised $302.20. We also ran our Easter Raffle where you could win lots of chocolate. Who knew so many of you love the sweet stuff as we raised a whopping $803.30. And lastly, we can’t forget our Friday treats of icy poles, which raised $562.50.
Thank you so much for your donations and support - we are a very lucky school and we are well on our way to getting new furniture for our teaching areas.
Mother’s/ Special Person’s Day - Friday 8th May
Don’t forget to come and celebrate with us tomorrow. Bring your lunch for you and your child/ren, have a coffee on Team Kids, buy a Friday treat of a cookie or cake from 1.30 and come spend some time with your little one in their classroom from 2.15pm until 3pm.

Bunnings BBQ - Saturday 23rd May
Tell all of Altona Meadows and surrounding suburbs that we will be frying snags at Bunnings, Altona North (Millers Junction). Tom will also be making his famous onions - if you know, you know!!
We would love to see our community down there supporting us whilst shopping and after sport.
We are still in need of a couple of volunteers in the morning - please consider signing up to help.
Subway Lunch - Thursday 11th June
We can hear the parents say yay - a day off making lunches!!! Mark it on your calendars. A note will be sent home in the coming weeks.
School Disco - Thursday 25th June
The date is locked and loaded and the planning has commenced. We can’t wait to announce the theme of our disco and what is happening. Keep an eye out on Compass for the next lot of information.
We need your help and support. Please read.
Our events and fundraising doesn’t happen by magic. There are a dedicated set of parents who plan and discuss and generally have an all round laugh at our parents & friends meetings. And we need you.

Volunteering
Alternatively, if you cannot attend a meeting (or you simply don’t wish to, which is totally fine), but if you want to be part of an event, events or even selling Friday treats, then you can view what volunteering opportunities there are for the term.
We have an online portal that allows you to sign up for yourself and/ or a friend. But please note that you MUST have a working with childrens check to volunteer.
This portal is constantly updated so it’s good to save this somewhere and check frequently.
