Principal's Report

Dear Families,
It has been another busy and positive start to the term, with plenty to celebrate and many exciting events ahead for our Torquay College community.
100 Days of Foundation
This Friday, our Foundation students will celebrate a very special milestone, 100 days of school! It is always wonderful to reflect on just how much our youngest students have grown since they first walked through our gates. Over the past 100 days, they have developed new friendships, established important routines and built confidence as learners. We look forward to celebrating this terrific achievement with them on Friday.
Foundation Enrolments for 2027
A reminder that Foundation enrolment applications for 2027 are due this Friday, 31 July. If you have a child beginning Foundation next year, or know a local family considering Torquay College, please ensure applications are submitted by the deadline. We feel incredibly privileged when families choose Torquay College and look forward to welcoming our newest students and families into our community.
Division Athletics
Congratulations to all students who represented Torquay College at the Division Athletics. We are incredibly proud of the way our students competed, encouraged one another and represented our school throughout the day. Thank you to the staff, students and parents who assisted and helped make the event possible. As always, we welcome feedback about the day and any suggestions that may assist us with future events.
Looking ahead, we are excited to be hosting our Grade 3–6 Athletics Carnival at Landy Field next year. Providing students with the opportunity to compete at this venue will help them become familiar with the facilities and better prepare those progressing to the Division and Regional stages.
Torquay College Community Cup
Our inaugural Torquay College Community Cup is fast approaching, with limited team places still available for Friday, 28 August at the RACV Torquay Golf Course. Now is the time to rally your team! Gather a group of parents, friends, colleagues or members of the wider community and join us for a fantastic afternoon of golf, connection and community spirit. You do not need to be connected directly to the school to participate, so please spread the word and invite others to get involved. With limited places remaining, make sure you secure your team soon. We are looking forward to seeing plenty of familiar, and hopefully some new, faces on the course!
Dates to Remember
Please take some time to look through the upcoming dates included in this newsletter and on Compass. Many important dates for the remainder of the year have now been added, and Term 3 and Term 4 are shaping up to be extremely busy. Keeping an eye on the calendar will ensure families are prepared for the many exciting learning opportunities, celebrations, sporting events and community activities still to come.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our students, staff and wider school community.
Warm regards,
Louise Kahle
