Oh, what a night!

The Annual Concert and Awards Night was another massive success last night.  I so enjoyed watching all of our students get on stage and give it their all.  I saw older students at the front of stage who I recall being too afraid to get on stage in their younger years.  I saw our youngest students blinking in the bright lights of their first concert as they tried to look  into the audience to spot their family members.  I saw family members enthusiastically supporting their children.  I also saw family members brought to tears with the pride and joy at seeing their child on stage.   I saw our staff members working tirelessly to get students to the right place at the right time and ready to do their best.  But what I mostly saw was a whole school community coming together to celebrate our amazing students.  

Thank you so much for being there last night to witness the end result of many hours of hard work.  Thank you to our staff who've worked so hard to make the night run so smoothly.  It really is my favourite part of the school year and last night was no exception.   As I said in my opening speech, I commend all of our students for their achievements and growth over the past year.  Congratulations to those students who received individual recognition last night.  The hard work you've put in and the values you display each day, have made you worthy of special recognition.  Keep up the good work!  You are a role model for your fellow students.

With the concert behind us, we look ahead at the final stretch.  Seven and a half weeks to go in the school year!  End of year assessments, report writing and of course some special celebrations of the school year are all to come.

Thank you again for supporting the Concert and Awards Night, it was one of the biggest audiences we've had for a few years.  Great to see you last night and I hope to see you at school in the coming weeks.
