Attendance Matters

Even though it is term 4, it is still vital that students arrive to school on time and attend daily to get the best of their learning. When students arrive late to school, they miss the explicit instruction part of the lesson and this then affects their ability to complete their independent work.

Consistent attendance is important to build on the learning from the previous day. Explicit instruction is given and followed up with Daily Review to embed the learning into the long term memory.

Regular attendance also supports the development of social skills and friendship building.

We understand that appointments are part of family life too and would appreciate if you could let the office and class teacher know if there is a regular ongoing appointment so that we can understand the needs to absence.

In line with MACS policy and child safety duty of care guidelines, parents and carers must inform the school of any absence as early as possible on or before the morning of the absence:

  1. Notifying the School: Please notify us by 9:00 AM via NForma or calling the absence line stating your child’s name, class, and the reason for the absence.
  2. Unexplained Absences: If an absence is unexplained by mid-morning, the school is required to contact you or nominated emergency contacts to ensure your child’s safety.
  3. Contact Details: Please notify the front office immediately if your phone number, address, or emergency contacts have changed so our records remain current.
