From our Principal

Tom Pearce

Dear parents and carers,

The weather has definitely been tracking the calendar and has made sure Winter has made its way into our lives on June 1st. It’s been pleasing to see students dressing for the conditions by bringing a rain jacket, wearing a jumper or donning a beanie.

Big Freeze

Following on from our 2025 Year Six student leaders’ action, our 2026 Student Representative Council have organised our second Big Freeze event. Tomorrow afternoon we will have several staff members brave the ice challenge to raise awareness and funds to continue the work of the Fight MND organisation. Students are invited to wear a splash of blue with their uniform tomorrow and to bring along a gold coin donation.

Foundation Open Afternoon

On Tuesday afternoon we held our first ‘Come and Try Foundation’ afternoon for prospective students. It was wonderful to welcome over 30 children and their families into our Foundation rooms to experience a taste of what our school offers.

The children enjoyed development play, an introduction to phonics, practised counting and read a story together. The event also gave prospective families another opportunity to understand the teaching and learning programs at our school.

I’d like to say a big thank you to our Foundation team for initiating this new event.

2027 Enrolments

If you have a child starting school in 2027, enrolments are now open. As of 2026, enrolments have moved online; the link is provided below. When you access the link, you will create an account and enrol your child from the account. This is a new process for schools in our area. If you would like assistance, please contact the office and we are happy to help.

If you know of a family who may be looking to enrol at our school, please direct them to this website.

Semester One Report Update

I sent all parents and carers an email yesterday letting you know that we will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.

The reports will be distributed on Wednesday 24th June.

The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but personal learning comments will not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.

We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our student-led conferences scheduled for Monday 22nd June, or, as always, you can contact your child’s teacher if you need to arrange a meeting.

Enjoy extra day over the long weekend,

Tom
