From the Classrooms

From the Grade 5 Camp
On the 24th of June I went to Grade 5 Sovereign Hill Camp. It was amazing! I was in a cabin and activity group with lots of friends. My favourite activity was candle dipping, where we got a plain, wax candle and dipped it in coloured wax to make a vibrant colourful candle stick. We did other activitites like going in underground mines, lolly making and gold panning. On the last day we were able to shop for toys, lollies, candles and soaps. For the gold panning we put all our gold in a shared container; in the end we had heaps of gold. We met lots of lovely people in costumes with accents. It was very entertaining! Sovereign Hill was great, and I would 100% come back!

From the US Open Martial Arts Tournament
Mitchell Boyer of 3AM recently competed at the US Open Martial Arts Tournament in Orlando, Florida representing Australia. This is the largest mixed martial arts tournament in the world with over 2000 competitors from all around the globe.
Last year, Mitchell’s Karate training saw him compete at the Melbourne Open, the Victorian State Championships and the Australian National Championships where he was ranked as an Australian Champion. This earned him an invite to attend the 2025 US Open as part of team Australia.
In the lead up to the event, Mitchell trained 5-6 days a week, late into the night with the adult tournament team (on top of his normal training regime).
Mitchell’s first round at the US Open saw him up against the current world champion (unlucky draw). Mitch did get injured during this round, but to his credit he did finish the round showing true Aussie grit and determination.
Mitchell finished the US Open ranked 6th in his division of which, we are all very proud.
A huge shout out to all the people who sent Mitch videos and messages of support while he was away. It was overwhelming to see so many messages from friends, family, teachers, footy team, tournament team etc. wishing Mitch all the best. Thank you all for your amazing support!
Mitch says he is very happy to be back in Australia and agrees, there really is no place like home! ❤️🇦🇺
