Middles Walk to Penders Park
Our Middles had a wonderful opportunity to step outside and explore God’s beautiful creation during their recent walk to Penders Park as part of their RE unit on Creation.
Once at the park, the students became Creation Detectives, taking time to slow down, look closely and notice the beauty all around them. They searched for something living, something beautiful, evidence of animal life and water, something that had been there for a long time, and even something that reminded them of God’s power.
The students also spent some quiet time in the park praying and reflecting, giving thanks for the wonderful world God has created and considering how we can care for it.
It was a lovely opportunity for our students to connect their learning with the world around them and appreciate the beauty of creation right on our doorstep. 🌳
Congratulations Confirmation Candidates!
A huge congratulations to all of our wonderful Confirmation candidates who celebrated their Confirmation last Saturday! It was such a beautiful and special ceremony, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. It was wonderful to see you take this important step in your faith journey with such joy and commitment.
Today at assembly, our Confirmation candidates were presented with their Confirmation certificates and proudly acknowledged by our school community. We are so proud of you and hope you continue to let your faith, courage and kindness shine brightly! Congratulations! 💛
Pope Leo XIV – August Prayer Intention
This month, Pope Leo invites us to pray “for evangelisation in the city,” recognising that while our communities can be places of opportunity and connection, they can also feel busy, noisy, and sometimes lonely.
In his prayer, Pope Leo reflects on Jesus as the Good Shepherd who walks through our streets and neighbourhoods—present in both the busy and the quiet moments of everyday life. He reminds us that many people are searching for meaning amid the noise and haste, and that even small, simple moments of awareness and care can help bring light and connection to others.
How families can connect this at home:
As a family, take a short walk around your street, local park, or neighbourhood—nothing long or complicated. As you walk, invite your child to notice what stands out to them: something peaceful, something interesting, or something they might usually walk past without seeing.
You might like to ask simple questions like:
- What is something you noticed today that you don’t usually see?
- What made you feel calm or happy on our walk?
- Did you notice anything kind or thoughtful happening?
- What is something you feel thankful for right now?
- How can we help make our neighbourhood a friendly place?
At the end of your walk, invite each person to share something they appreciated or found special, and finish with a quiet moment of gratitude together.
