Principal's Message
From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 2, Week 3
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
We are looking forward to this Friday, celebrating Mother's Day with our Breakfast and Stall as well as Do it for Dolly Day. I would like to wish all of our Mothers, Grandmothers and significant female Caregivers a very Happy Mother's Day on Sunday.
Behaviour Focus
Our behaviour focus for Week 3 is again Ready, Respectful & Safe:
We are learning to:
Participate in events and activities
We are successful when:
Be ready to participate
Be ready to receive and follow instructions
Be respectful at the event and to those around you
Be safe and aware of your surroundings
Quirindi Zone Cross Country
Good luck to those students who will be participating at the Quirindi Zone Cross Country this Thursday, 7th May. Notes for participation were sent home and need to be returned no later than tomorrow, Wednesday, 6th May.
Reading Awards
Congratulations to Jed on achieving 25 nights, Millie on achieving 50 nights and Joe on achieving 75 nights of reading. Keep up the great work.

Turn Up Awards
The "Turn Up" award was introduced last year to encourage our students to attend school every day. Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a paddle pop voucher. A voucher will be issued each week to each class. If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries. If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries. Congratulations to our winners for Week 1 & 2:
2/3O - Millie & Summer
4/5/6T - Noah & Maddison

Do It for Dolly Day
WCPS will again be participating in "Do it for Dolly Day" on Friday, 8th May. Students are to wear blue and bring in a gold coin donation that will be forwarded on to the Dolly's Dream Foundation. Dolly’s Dream provides free support and resources to help navigate the challenges of bullying and its impacts, connect with services, and take steps towards creating a kinder, safer world. For more information go to their website: www.dollysdream.org.au
Mother's Day Breakfast
We will be holding a Mother's Day breakfast this Friday, 8th May in the school hall to celebrate our Mothers/Significant Female Caregivers to our students. Please come and enjoy a bacon and egg roll with your child from 7:30am to celebrate our Mothers/Significant Female Caregivers. An invitation is available on Sentral or paper copy for those requested to advise for catering purposes.
Mother's Day Stall
Our P&C will be holding a Mother's Day Stall at 2:00pm for our students to purchase a gift for $5 for their Mother/Significant Female Caregiver. Order forms have been sent home and are also available on the Sentral App to download.
Parent/Carer Survey
In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child's learning is supported. Notes to opt out of this survey are now available on Sentral or in paper form and are to be returned no later than Friday, 15th May. The survey will be open on Monday, 18th May and run through until Friday, 29th May. A link and QR Code will be provided to be able to participate in this survey.
Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what's working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. We will share with you the link as soon as it goes live.
Kind regards
Kathy Nott
