Dear Families,
The whole school is still buzzing from The Imaginarium. I have received so many thank you emails, we have had calls from families and grandparents, cards, chocolates and flowers in the staffroom. To know that you all enjoyed the production and to have seen each of our students shine last Monday was a moment for our whole community to celebrate all that we are at St Mary’s. As Drew said to me early on after our second last rehearsal with him that we are a good school, but through hard work and high expectations we became an Imaginarium great school!
I would like to celebrate our amazing staff and the work, care and dedication that each one put into the Imaginarium. So many things have happened behind the scenes to make Imaginarium the success it was. We are blessed to have our staff and it is my privilege to work alongside each one.
Please use this QR code to enjoy the children’s artwork in response to the Imaginarium.
Thank you to 'Wiseguys Pizzeria' for supply staff with dinner after the Imaginarium. We highly recommend them. (252A Dandenong Road, St Kilda East - 9533 6888)
Last Wednesday night many of our Year 6 students together with several Parish students celebrated their Sacrament of Confirmation. Father Jerome conferred the sacrament and in his warm and relational manner, gave each student a sacramental experience to remember and a homily that spoke to each of us by using language and analogies. We thank Mr Millane together with Carmel Vozzo, Anastasia Romios, Catherine Le Hunt and Angela Mason for preparing the students so well and of course Father Jerome for his support and guidance.
Last week, also on Wednesday our Year 3's visited Papilio Childcare to meet the younger students and to play and read with them. Miss Tovey was so proud of the students and the maturity and care they showed the Papilio community.
Hoop Time was upon us on Thursday. We thank Mrs Angela Mason for organising the teams and entering us into the competition. Together with Miss Romios and Ms Kat, it was great to hear that the students all played well and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. We are loving our new basketball tops.
Thank you to the families who have already completed the MACSSIS Survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, helping us celebrate our successes and identify areas where we can further improve the educational opportunities for our students. The survey closes tomorrow and we would be very grateful if those who haven't yet completed it would do so.
This week, our Year 3 and 4 students had a fantastic time at camp. The children should be so proud of their achievements, showing great resilience and independence by stepping outside their comfort zones. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures at an assembly next Term. A huge thank you to Miss Tovey for her hard work in leading the camp and to Mr Millane and Mrs Mason for stepping in to assist with our unwell staff members. We thank the families for our delicious hampers on return.
We congratulate the following students who have moved from the HOLT athletics competition to the Beachside Division Athletics Carnival, at Duncan McKinnon Athletics Track on Friday 10th October.
