Athletics Success
Congratulations to Eve N (Year 4) and William Widjaja (Year 5), who have both qualified for the Southern Metropolitan Regional Finals, to be held in a week’s time. Eve and William earned their spots after finishing in the top two at the recent Divisional Athletics Championships at Casey Fields. Eve will compete in the 800m event, while William will represent our school in the 100m sprint. We wish them both the very best as they take on the region’s best athletes!
Hooptime Basketball Championships
We also wish our Senior Girls Hooptime Team every success at the upcoming State Hooptime Championships, to be held at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna. The girls qualified after an incredible performance, winning the Divisional Hooptime Competition in Term 2. A full report will follow after the event.
Maramba Primary is showing remarkable growth in basketball, supported by our strong focus on developing a basketball program within the school. Many of our students are actively competing in domestic clubs across the Dandenong Basketball League, and several are currently trying out for the Dandenong Rangers Representative teams.
Mr. Wilson has also been selected as a Rangers coach for an Under 12 Girls Representative team, further strengthening our school’s connection to high-level basketball.
Through our links with the South East Melbourne Phoenix, as well as local domestic clubs, and with our amazing facilities, Maramba is quickly becoming the place to be for basketball in 2025 and beyond!
