From the Leadership Team

One of the aspects that we value and really enjoy is community coming together, especially when we are celebrating our wonderful children. Last week, we had two special activities that were examples of this – our Grandfriend's Morning and our Connected Schools Worship.  

Grandfriend's Day   

Connection and relationships are central to the positive wellbeing of our children. The more connections and relationships they have, the more likely they will be thriving.  

We thank all our Grandfriend's for spending time with our children last Wednesday morning. The excitement and joy seen in our children as they shared stories, games, activities and aspects of their St Paul experiences reflects how much they value you.  

Thank you to our choir for their excellent performance during morning tea. Thank you to our wonderful staff, to Mr Huxtable our Performing Arts teacher for his nurturing of our choir, and to our admin staff for the behind the scenes work to bring it all together.  

Connected Worship 

Our Year 4 to 6 children travelled to Endeavour College on Thursday morning to join with senior students from Good Shepherd Para Vista and Golden Grove Lutheran School and the Year 7 students from Endeavour College for our annual Connected School Worship. It was a time of celebration as we celebrated the continued assurance of God guiding and protecting us as we build our lives with Him. Thank you to our Year 6 children who were involved in leading worship.  

St Paul Art Exhibition 

Impressive is the only way to describe the quality of the artworks produced by our children that we had on display in our halls and corridors last week.  

Thank you to our Grandfriend's and families who generously donated to acquire artwork. This was a fundraiser towards the cost of painting a mural along one of our external walls. We are eagerly looking forward to the mural work beginning. 

Learning beyond the classroom 

Learning at St Paul is enriched through experiences beyond the classroom walls and through expert guests visiting our children.  

This week our Year 5 children travelled to the Marine Discovery Centre as part of their HASS learning about Earth’s surface, humans’ management of spaces and how these connect with our coasts and the marine world. 

Also this week, our Year 4 children were visited by SA Water as part of their Science learning about water and their HASS learning about water management and government connections. 

Today, our Year 2 children eagerly boarded the bus to head to AFL Max for their school sleepover, the first overnight learning experience in their schooling journey. This is an exciting time for them and we look forward to hearing of their adventures when they return.  

All of these experiences help our children make real world connections in their learning and develop their learning assets, the skills that will benefit them as lifelong learners across all areas of their study.
