Music and Concert Band
Welcome to Music at VUSC for 2026!
Instrumental Lessons
Billing and Compass consent for 2026 Instrumental Lessons will be sent out early in Term 1. Lessons normally cost $930 per student for the year, however those students who are active members of either the Concert Band Program or a Co-curricular school ensemble are subsidised to $250 for the year. Parent/carer consent on Compass will be required once only for all performances and competitions throughout the year (excluding Music Camp). For those who receive CSEF this can be used for music lessons and Music Camp.
College Choir
New members are welcome to join the College Choir which rehearses every Wednesday from 2pm to 3pm at the Junior Campus (a shuttle bus is provided for Senior students to attend). Students in Year 7 are very welcome to sign up for this wonderful school ensemble. Under the direction of our new voice tutor and choir director Ms Robyn Cole, we invite any interested students to make contact with Mr Robert Breen, via Teams or in person.
Honours Band
The Honours Band has already completed 13 hours of rehearsals this year in the lead up to their tour to Brisbane at the end of term 1. 41 of the 55 student members will represent the school at the Australian National Band Championships as a Concert Band, with eight students also competing in the solo sections and nine in the Quartet/Quintet section. With many hours of rehearsal and practise ahead we wish the students all the best for this event.

Extracurricular Music Opportunities at VUSC
We have many wonderful opportunities for students to take part in extracurricular music ensembles at VUSC. We encourage students who wish to sing in one of the choirs or play guitar or drums in one of the Jazz or Rock Bands to please get in touch with Mr Breen.
