PRAYER
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darknessand we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence, Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust in Your protecting love and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose,
Your will through all things.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Families,
It is always wonderful to see our students continuing to build and foster meaningful relationships with each other. The interactions they share create a warm and nurturing environment. The Prep students have settled in well and are seen to express a sense of belonging to the St Philip’s community.
This week we recognise one of the most significant days of our liturgical calendar, Ash Wednesday. This day marks the beginning of Lent, a season of sacred time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. As we journey towards Easter, we are called to pause and reflect how we may offer our prayers, help, and gratitude to others. It is God’s call for us to act more justly, care more deeply, and give generously.
School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a crucial part of our school community as it promotes consultation between parish, school and families. Parent representatives share their wisdom and offer support to me in relation to strategic interests of the school according to the terms of reference. Our Term One meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 3 March at 7.00pm. If you are interested in being a part of the SAC or if you would like further information, please contact me.

'Carnevale'
Ciao a tutti!
With lent coming up the Italian tradition 'Carnevale' is in full-swing. It is a pre-lenten festival celebrated with elaborate masks, costumes, parades and yummy food treats.
The last and most famous day of Carnevale' is Martedi Grasso, or in Australia 'Shrove Tuesday'. To celebrate, all the students made Carnevale Masks in Italian. Here is a photo of the grade P/1.

Tuck Shop
"We would love to welcome all the new families starting at St Philips this year. Our Tuck shop is a highlight of the week for the children. They love seeing their parents during lunchtime counter sales! Lunch orders are taken in the morning and delivered to classrooms ready for lunch time. Over lunch time, we have snacks and treats available for sale over the counter. If you are able to spare 1 or 2 sessions per term to volunteer, we would love to hear from you! Full training will be provided. Each volunteer session is from 11:30 - 2.30pm, working in a pair. See below for contact details.
Tuckshop is open every Friday, we are very fortunate to have our tuckshop run by parent volunteers for the students enjoyment. This would not be possible without our small team of committed volunteers showing up week after week.
Please reach out to Clara on 0449 767 020 or Angi on 0431 021 711 if you can help. We appreciate your support.
