Junior Health and Physical Education

The junior Health and Physical Education curriculum has prioritized developing emotional literacy, personal strengths, positive coping strategies, and problem-solving skills to enhance overall health and well-being. Students have been taught the importance of improving self-awareness, social awareness, self-regulation, and decision-making abilities. The goal is to empower students with a strong sense of self-identity and the tools needed to navigate complex emotions and relationships in a healthy and productive manner.

Outdoor education

Our outdoor education classes have been exploring the natural world and learning about conservation and sustainability. Students have been engaging in a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and surfing, while learning about the local ecosystem and how to protect it. They have also been learning valuable outdoor survival skills.

Year 9 outdoor education students are preparing for their upcoming camp in May.  Early in March they will be learning about beach safety and how to keep themselves and each other safe as well as improving their general knowledge and understanding of the coastal and beach environment.

Unfortunately the Year 12s  final camp to the Grampians, staying at Borough Huts was postponed due to the fire risk in that area.  We have tentatively rebooked for 20-22 May and once confirmed parents/students will be advised.

VCE Health and Human Development

In Health and Human Development, the students have been understanding how heath surrounds us. They have looked at how aspects of individuals lives influence their health and wellbeing, and how indicators are used to indicate levels of health status. Students have gained a greater understanding of perspectives of health, and how these perspectives change throughout individuals’ lives.
