National Ride2School Day is on Friday 22nd March 2024 and is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel and one of the best days on the school calendar!
Bicycle Network’s Ride2School program has shared the joy of riding with hundreds of thousands of students for 17 years. Around 3500 Australian schools participate in the day to encourage students to get physically active on their journey to school.
Not only is active travel good for your health, it’s good for the environment too! Riding, walking, scooting or skating to school means there are fewer cars on the road, which results in a reduction in carbon emissions and noise pollution.
Join us on Friday 22nd March by riding or walking to school, even if you park a few blocks away, make part of your travel to school active!
All students who walk, ride or scoot to school will receive a certificate celebrating their awesome active travel choice. PLUS they will go into the draw to win some epic active travel prizes!
To start the year in Engaging With Place (EWP) we have created our Garden Discovery Spaces and our Cooking Roster, we have used Rosemary and Oregano from our garden to make our Rosemary Mango Smoothie and Baked Tomatoes Oregano.
Recipes are in our monthly newsletter.
Our mini lessons have been focused on the National Apology with children sharing thinking around what sorry looks like to them and what apologising feels like as a giver and a receiver. Our Grade 5/6‘s have used fineliners and watercolour to represent their ideas.
