Hello everyone,
I’ve been so impressed with the way students have approached PE sessions with enthusiasm and positivity. With the beautiful weather, we’ve been able to enjoy most of our PE lessons outdoors and make the most of the sunshine.
Students in Years 3–6 have been participating in Athletics Day practice, focusing on developing their skills and techniques across a range of events. It has been wonderful to see their determination as they refined their jumping and throwing skills in preparation for the big day.
Our Foundation and Year 1/2 students have been building their understanding of turn-taking, teamwork and encouragement through structured games and activities. These sessions have helped students practise waiting patiently, supporting their peers and following instructions to ensure everyone feels safe and included.
It has been a fantastic start, and I’m looking forward to seeing students continue to grow in confidence and skill as the term progresses.
Kind regards,
Tom Porter
We are incredibly proud of our swimmers who represented St Brendan’s at the Bayside District Swimming Trials on Wednesday 18th February. It was a chilly start to the day but they all showed great courage and determination in the pool. It was wonderful to see them represent our school with such pride and sportsmanship.. A special congratulations to Henry S who qualified for the Division 9/10 Boys 100m freestyle. He also qualified for the 9/10 Boys Division Freestyle relay alongside Dawson S, Tex M and Maverick M. Such an outstanding achievement! We wish them the very best as they prepare to compete at our Division Swimming on Wednesday 25th March.
Our St. Brendan’s Athletics Day was a fantastic success! We were very lucky that the weather held out for us, allowing all events to run smoothly across the morning. It was wonderful to see students proudly representing their houses, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and giving their best effort in each track and field event. The energy and encouragement from students and staff created such a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the day. A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who generously gave their time to support our Athletics Day. Your assistance in running events, recording results and encouraging students helped the day run smoothly. We truly appreciate your support, we couldn’t have done it without you!

We were thrilled to welcome the Hockey Victoria Roadshow to our school recently. Our Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 classes had a fantastic time participating in the sessions, developing their hockey skills through fun, game-based activities suited to their age and ability levels.
Students learnt the basics of passing, dribbling and teamwork in a safe and supportive environment, led by Hockey Victoria’s enthusiastic Participation Officers. It was wonderful to see so many students giving hockey a go, encouraging one another and embracing the challenge of learning a new sport.
For students who are keen to continue their hockey journey, local programs are available at Mornington Peninsula Hockey Club. ( please see more details in Community News)
