Hello DPW Community,
Welcome to Term 2!
How fortunate are we with this beautiful weather to start the term?
It’s been wonderful to hear that so many of our students enjoyed a great break and are happy to be back at school. We have a number of exciting events and learning opportunities coming up this term, including our ANZAC Commemorative Assembly (tomorrow, 24th April at 2:50pm), a visit from members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra who will be performing for all year levels, the Year 5 Camp to Queenscliff, the Year 1 excursion, and, toward the end of the term, our parent–teacher meetings.
We will be making a change to the frequency of our school newsletter this term. Newsletters will now be shared every fortnight, on odd‑numbered weeks. This means that during the term, you will receive the school newsletter on odd weeks, and on even weeks we will be hosting our school assembly.
School Tours for Foundation 2027
Enrolments for Foundation 2027 are now open. We warmly welcome all families with a child starting school in 2027 to visit the office and collect an enrolment pack or download a copy from the school website. Please fill these in and then contact the office to make a time for enrolment.
For any families wishing to get to know our school a little before making the decision to enrol, we have some dates available for a tour:
Thursday 7th May – 10am
Tuesday 26th May – 2:30pm
Wednesday 10th June – 12pm
Should you wish to attend one of the school tours, please contact the office on 9363 3519, to reserve a place.
Volunteer Induction
This term we have held one Volunteer Induction Session. It was great to have so many family members and carers attend! Induction covers the Child Safe Standards and OH&S information about our school. We are excited to see the varied ways our volunteers will be supporting us. Many are looking forward to assisting with excursions and helping in the library.
Volunteers could also:
And overall, provide a positive role model that encourages students to be the best person and learner they can be.
The next Volunteer Induction session will be held on Friday 8th May at 9:15am. If you interested in attending, please register at the office and pick up your information pack. Please note that you require a current Working with Children Check.
Kindest Regards,

Deanne Scott
