5-6 Class

(Ms Murphy)

Thank you to our Grade 5/6 students and families for a marvellous Term 1 at Alvie Primary School. It has been such an enjoyable experience getting to know the children. Their vibrancy, willingness to learn, humour and beautiful personalities have truly shone through.

We finished War Horse today, which has been an incredible and emotional journey. The students demonstrated thoughtful insight into the characters and developed a deeper understanding of this historical time, raising some meaningful questions about the role of animals in war. It is a story that will stay with us for a long time, and we would highly recommend any text by Michael Morpurgo.

Tomorrow, we will be completing our much-anticipated air-propelled cars and celebrating our World Extreme Earth investigation. Throughout this unit, we have been learning about the Earth’s tilt and orbit and how this creates different seasons around the world. Students will be presenting their learning on extreme places and weather conditions.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the assembly and picnic. Thank you again for a wonderful term.
