Learner Profile Attribute:

 Risk-taker

For the month of March, we are focussing on being “Risk-takers” in our learning and at school.

We are risk-takers when we approach uncertainty with consideration and determination. We work independently and cooperatively to explore new ideas and innovative strategies. We are resourceful and resilient in the face of challenges and change.

How can you support your child at home with being a risk-taker?

  •    Encourage your child to try new things.
  •  Try new things with them and acknowledge being a risk-taker.
  • Explain to your child that good risk-takers are prepared!
  • Discuss how we feel when we take a risk or try something new. Our feelings can sometimes be overwhelming but talking about it helps to control and manage those feelings.
  • Encourage new friendships and meeting new people.
  • Reflect on new experiences.
  • Discuss with your child where they may have been a risk-taker at school, this may have been in the classroom, specialist lessons or in the playground.
