Living Well Learning Well: Morning tea with our Year 5 buddies
This term Year 2 have been learning about artefacts and sources of information during their History lessons. To help build our understanding of what an artefact is we have been watching short clips showing old kitchens from the 1800s and meals that would have been prepared. Our children were able to identify many artefacts from the past while watching the clips and discussion then led us towards bringing in some of our own artefacts to share with the class.
Many of the children were able to bring artefacts from the past that were either connected to their family (e.g photos, war medals, passports) or collected by their families (e.g coins, cassette players, irons). We are looking forward to extending our learning of artefacts and sources and investigating and discovering more about the local legend...Captain Thunderbolt.
