Tuesday 5th August

Dear Diary,

Today was about the best day of my life!

Myself and 20 other people went down into the Sovereign Hill gold mine also known as the Labyrinth of Gold. As we stepped onto the tram, I felt the cold stiff metal run along my fingers, I scrunched myself up so as to stop the chill moving up my spine. I sat next to Imogen and some boy I didn’t know.

When we were all on the tram the guide shouted ‘silence’, then we slowly descended into the mine. I tried to savour last bit of light as it quickly ran away from me into the distance. I turned to face the front almost instantly steam hissed in my face as if it didn’t like me. We traveled further and further down until we came to a stop. Murky lanterns lit the walls with an eerie glow we stepped off the tram and the gravel crunched under my feet I held Imogen's hand tight as if I was dangling off a cliff, we went down one of the tunnels it got darker and darker and my  grip got tighter and tighter it felt like we were  under ground forever so when I got the first glimpse of light my eyes burned hotter than the sun I was grateful to have had that experience that not everyone is lucky enough to have. Until next time… ISLA

A huge well done to our Boys A team who made it to the grand final! While they narrowly missed out on taking the title, finishing as runners-up is an outstanding achievement. The team played with intensity and heart all day. Thank you to Nathan Webb for his fantastic coaching and support of the team.

Our Girls team finished in 5th place and showed wonderful determination and growth with each game. Their positive attitude and resilience were a credit to them. A big thank you to Rachael Wills for her guidance and encouragement in coaching the team.

Division Soccer

A big congratulations to our Senior Girls Soccer Team, who proudly represented the Macedon Ranges at the Western Ranges Regional Competition on the 27th of June.

The girls finished top of their draw and narrowly missed out on taking out the overall competition – just falling short on percentage. What an incredible effort and achievement – well done, team!
