Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 3
It has been a great start to Term 3 at Mount View Primary School. Our students have returned to school with big smiles, eager to reconnect with their friends and teachers. It’s been a smooth and positive beginning, and we’re pleased to see everyone settling quickly back into classroom routines.
There are many events and important dates to look forward to this term:
Friday 1 August – Curriculum Day
Students will not attend school on this day as staff engage in professional learning focused on the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0. Their Care will be running a full-day program, and families are welcome to book a place for their child if needed.
Monday 4 – Friday 8 August – Year 5 & 6 Ski Camp
Some of our Year 5 and 6 students will head to Mount Buller for a three-day alpine adventure.
Wednesday 13 August – Science Week Open Morning
All families are warmly invited to visit classrooms from 9:00am as part of our Science Week celebrations. More information can be found in the flyer included in today’s newsletter.
Monday 18th August – Book Week Assembly
This is definitely a highlight of the school calendar. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character and join us for a special assembly to celebrate the joy of reading.
Wednesday 20 August – Year 3 Camp at Lake Dewar
Our Year 3 students will set off on their very first school camp. This is a wonderful opportunity to build independence and teamwork.
Tuesday 12 August- ICAS English and Wednesday 27 August – ICAS Mathematics
Registered students in Years 3–6 will participate in these assessments. Further information about ICAS is included in today’s newsletter.
Week of Monday 8 September – Student-Led Conferences
Students will share their learning and progress with families during these important conversations. More information will be provided by classroom teachers closer to the date.
Wednesday 17 & Thursday 18 September – Year 5 School Production
We are excited to showcase the performance skills of our talented Year 5 students. Save the dates for what promises to be a fantastic show!
We look forward to a productive and engaging term ahead. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Celebrating 60 Years of Mount View
This week, our Community Engagement Committee met to begin planning a very special milestone — the 60th anniversary of Mount View Primary School. We're excited to celebrate our school's rich history and the many people who have contributed to making it such a vibrant learning community.
We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
