ABS Census Reminder

On Tuesday 11 August 2026, every household in Australia is invited to complete the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census — a short but significant exercise that shapes the future of our communities. Most households should have already received a Census information pack in the post

If yours has not yet arrived, please contact the ABS directly to request one:

The Census is one of Australia's most important sources of national data. Governments and planners rely on it to make informed decisions about schools, education services, transport, health care, infrastructure, and community programs. Accurate responses help ensure that communities like ours receive the resources and support they deserve — both now and in the years ahead.

For schools, Census data carries real weight. It informs education planning, demographic analysis, and aspects of school funding, and helps governments anticipate population growth and the future needs of families. This benefits not only Plenty Valley Christian College, but public schools and the broader education sector across our region.

We also encourage families to answer the questions about faith and religious affiliation thoughtfully and confidently. Faith is a meaningful part of life for many Australian families, and your response helps ensure that Australia's religious diversity is accurately reflected in national statistics — giving decision-makers a clearer, more complete picture of the communities they serve.

At PVCC, we are proud to be an active, engaged community. Completing the Census is a practical and meaningful way to ensure our local area is accurately represented and that future planning reflects the real needs of the families who call this region home.

We are grateful for the partnership we share with our families. Together, we can help shape a future that reflects who we truly are as a community.
