From the Acting Principal

100 Days of Prep:
Our Prep students will be celebrating their 100 Days of Prep on Thursday 6th August. Where has that time gone!
To help celebrate this special milestone, students in P/1 are invited to come dressed as something related to the number 100. Some fun ideas include:
- An elderly person (100 years old!)
- A shirt decorated with 100 stickers, pom poms, buttons or shapes
- A sports jersey with the number 100
- A superhero with "100" on their cape
A collection of 100 colourful items attached to a T-shirt
I know Mrs Piaser is busy organising many special activities to celebrate this exciting achievement. We can't wait to celebrate with you and see everyone's creative costumes!
Brax's Japanese Adventure:
Year 5 student Brax has been proudly representing Australia in Japan at the IBA Boys World Championships in baseball. This is an outstanding achievement, and we congratulate Brax on this incredible opportunity.
Throughout the tournament, Brax has competed against teams from countries including Japan, Chinese Taipei and Brazil. In Australia's match against Brazil, Brax took to the mound as pitcher and struck out one of Brazil's batters – a fantastic accomplishment on the international stage. Well done, Brax! We can't wait to hear all about your experiences when you return.
Mary MacKillop Feast Day Mass:
On Friday 7th August, we will be gathering as a school and parish community to celebrate Mary MacKillop Feast Day Mass. Mass will begin at 9:00 am, and we warmly invite families to join in this celebration to honour and remember Australia's first saint, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
We Are One Podcast:
Have you had the chance to listen to our first We Are One Podcast yet? Our first episode was released on Monday, with our School Captains, Harper, James and Lydia, sharing the latest news, stories and school spirit from STM. Congratulations to all three students on a fantastic first episode!
I was fortunate to watch the recording session and was incredibly impressed by their confidence, teamwork, and professionalism. We hope you enjoy listening to the podcast as much as we enjoyed creating it! Here's the link if you missed it in the Nforma Notices.

St Vincent de Paul - Winter Appeal:
Winter Food Drive – Help Us Make a Difference!
This winter, our school is proud to be supporting St Vincent de Paul by holding a Winter Food Drive as part of our Social Justice initiative to help people in our local community who are doing it tough.
If you are able, we would greatly appreciate donations of non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables, soup, pasta, rice, cereal, long-life milk, baked beans, and other pantry staples. Please place your donations in the collection box in the foyer. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help provide comfort and support to those in need during the colder months.
As students, we are excited to work together to make a positive difference in our community. Your generosity and kindness can help brighten someone's day and remind them that they are not alone.
Thank you for supporting our St Vincent de Paul Winter Food Drive. Together, we can make a real difference this winter!
Thank you for your support, Payton, Eliza & Bianca - Social Justice Leaders

Children's Book Week 2026:
In 2026, the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) proudly celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Book of the Year Awards. Since 1946, these awards have recognised the outstanding talent, creativity, and imagination of Australian authors and illustrators, inspiring generations of young readers.
To celebrate this special week, we have planned a number of exciting events for our students:
- Book Week Book Fair – Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held during Book Week. More information, including dates and purchasing details, will be shared in upcoming newsletters.
- Book Week Dress-Up Day and Parade – On Friday 28 August, students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character, author, or illustrator.
We look forward to celebrating the joy of reading and seeing everyone's fantastic Book Week costumes!
STM Trivia Night:
Don't forget our STM Trivia Night, hosted by our amazing P&F, is happening this Saturday, 1st August, from 6:30 pm.
There are still a few tickets available, so if you're interested in joining us for a fun-filled evening, be sure to book your spot on CDFPay before they sell out!
A huge thank you to our dedicated P&F team for all the time and effort they have put into organising what is sure to be another fantastic community event. We look forward to seeing many of our STM families there.
