Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

School Facilities - Stage 1 Fencing Upgrade

We are delighted to share that Stage 1 of our perimeter fencing project has now been completed. The response from our school community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many parents, visitors and students commenting on how much the new fencing has enhanced the appearance of our school while also providing a greater sense of safety and security. It has been wonderful to hear our own students express how proud they are of the improvement.

This project represents an important step in creating a safer and more welcoming learning environment for everyone at Maramba Primary School. It is fantastic to see this long awaited project becoming a reality, and we look forward to progressing the remaining stages in the future. We thank our school community for their ongoing support.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all the families who attended our Parent Teacher Interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, and to our dedicated staff for their time and commitment in preparing for and conducting these meetings. The interviews provided a valuable opportunity for teachers and families to work together, celebrate each child's achievements, and discuss learning goals for the semester ahead. Strong partnerships between home and school play a vital role in supporting student success, wellbeing, and engagement. We sincerely appreciate the collaboration and ongoing support of our families and staff in helping every student thrive.

Art Show

A huge thank you to Ms. Walker for her incredible work in organising the Art Show, showcasing the outstanding creativity and talent of our students from Foundation to Year 6. Families were treated to an impressive collection of artwork, including canvas paintings, clay creations, crayon artworks, watercolour pieces, and many other wonderful examples of artistic expression. We were truly blown away by the quality, imagination, and effort displayed across the school. Thank you also to all the staff who assisted with setting up the exhibition and helping bring this fantastic event to life. Your support made it a wonderful celebration of our students' creativity and achievements.

School Concert 

Maramba Primary School's Foundation to Year 6 students present What a Wonderful World. It centres around a group of school children at the end of their primary school journey as they begin to realise that the world around them is not as simple or as bright as it once seemed. As they witness challenges within their community and their belief in happiness is tested, they begin to question whether growing up in a world that can be so difficult is worth it. What will they discover about self-belief, resilience, and finding beauty in the everyday? You have to watch it to find out!

New staff

We are delighted to welcome two new teachers to the Maramba Primary School community. Please join us in welcoming Ms Wang, who will be teaching The Experts of Excellence in Year 3/4, and Mrs Burns, who will be teaching The Powerful Parrots in Year 3/4. We look forward to making them feel part of our school community by demonstrating our four school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Relationships as they begin their journey with us.

Hello, I'm Jenny Burns, and I'm delighted to be joining Maramba Primary School as the new teacher of 3/4JB. I am excited to be part of such a welcoming and supportive school community and look forward to getting to know not only my students and their families, but the wider Maramba community as well. I can't wait to support my students as they learn, grow, and thrive throughout the year!

My name is Sherry Wang, and I am delighted to be joining Maramba Primary School as a Year 3/4 teacher. I am passionate about creating a supportive and inclusive classroom where students feel safe to ask questions, take on challenges and grow in confidence. I look forward to helping each student develop their skills, independence and love of learning.

NAPLAN 2026

The individual NAPLAN results for our Year 3 and Year 5 students were released this week. NAPLAN assesses student achievement in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy against four proficiency levels:

• Exceeding

• Strong

• Developing

• Needs Additional Support

NAPLAN provides a valuable snapshot of each student's learning and progress at a particular point in time. While these results are an important milestone, they represent just one measure of a student's achievement and do not define their abilities or potential.

At Maramba Primary School, we use NAPLAN results alongside classroom assessments and teacher observations to better understand each student's strengths and identify areas where additional support or extension may be beneficial. This information helps us continue to provide every student with the opportunities they need to achieve success and make ongoing progress in their learning journey.

Transition to Cashless Purchases

To align with Department of Education policy, Maramba Primary School is transitioning to a cashless payment system for all canteen purchases and fundraising activities.

The last day for window cash sales at the canteen will be Friday 7 August. After this date, all canteen items must be pre-ordered and paid for through the Qkr! app. Thank you for your understanding and support as we make this transition.
