This Week's Updates

Dear Families,
It was lovely to see so many of our St James families attend mass yesterday and participate in a lovely service. The Year One and Two students led the celebration and read beautifully. The 130 sausages cooked were well received by the students and parishioners. Thanks to the Year One/Two team of Daniel Egan, Charlotte Allan, Sarah Plunkett and Dani Heffernan for attending with their students. Thanks also to Josh Crowe, our Education in Faith Leader for all of the organisation he put into the celebration.
Well done to our students who participated in the Division Cross Country event today. While no one progressed to the Regional Level, there were many fine performances including a few PBs in what can be described as true Cross Country conditions.
Thanks to all the families who attended the Cyber Safety evening on Wednesday last. It was very insightful and there were some very easy to implement and practical tips to start making our homes and children safer on devices at home. For those of you who missed it, click on Resources for Parents & Carers here to see the recording of the session and feel free to share it with anyone who would benefit from it.
The Aquinas Long Walk
As part of National Reconciliation Week, today, twelve of our Year Six leaders joined in the Aquinas Long Walk for Reconciliation. Many schools were walking with their school banners proudly on display for the Long Walk Foundation in solidarity for Reconciliation and justice. This year the theme is "All In" - a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.
Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.
Year Four Gala Day Sports
Well done to all our Year Four Gala Day student participants last week. What a fun day out it was. There was great sportsmanship and skill displayed in both netball and soccer.
