Principal's Report
Term 4, Week 1
Ms Debra Haddow

Welcome back to Term 4! I can hardly believe we are already here.
I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and restful break. There has been plenty happening around the school, with our roofing project almost complete, unsafe trees removed, gardens looking fantastic and 2027 planning well underway. We are also excited that the basketball court upgrade will commence in the coming weeks.
Thank you to everyone supporting our Coles Gateway initiative. We are currently sitting first on the leaderboard as we work towards our $5,000 goal, so please keep supporting us where you can.
We have another busy term ahead, so let’s continue to stay organised and informed to minimise stress and make the most of the opportunities ahead.

As we approach the end of the year, we are reflecting on our 2026 goals and celebrating the progress we have made across teaching and learning.
A key focus has been developing calm, consistent routines, which we will continue to embed across the school to support successful learning.
End-of-year assessments will commence shortly as we prepare student academic reports and evaluate learning progress. We also continue to work through our Cluster Network mathematics project, focusing on strengthening outcomes and understanding student progress from Years 5 to 9.

Colour Run
What a fantastic event!
A huge thank you to our School Council subcommittee for making the Colour Run such a success. We are finalising the fundraising outcomes, with funds being invested directly back into our students and playground improvements. Awards will be presented at our next assembly.
With our PFC currently in recess, events such as this demonstrate what we can achieve when our community comes together. We hope some families may be inspired to join the School Council fundraising team or help us reinvigorate our PFC in the future.

There is already a great deal underway for next year. Workforce planning, class organisation, booklists and parent payment information are progressing, with information to be shared with families shortly.
Student Leadership
Our current Year 5 students have commenced the 2027 Student Leadership process, with all students given a fair and transparent opportunity to apply.
We are also reviewing and strengthening the responsibilities of our Student Executive Leaders (SELs) as we move into the second year of the program. This will continue to build student voice, agency and leadership across our school.
2027 Year 6 Hoodie
Our draft Year 6 hoodie designs have been returned and we are working towards a final design. More information will be shared soon.
Building Our Future
We continue to invest in creating welcoming, safe and engaging spaces for our students, including our roofing works, garden and playground improvements, upcoming basketball court upgrade and tiered garden project.
Our Adopt a Plant initiative is a wonderful opportunity for families to contribute to this work, with students able to purchase a plant through QKR and have their family name displayed alongside it.

As we begin Term 4, please remember to:
· Check Compass regularly for important dates and events.
· Support our focus on wearing the school uniform with pride including hats.
· Keep up to date with Term 4 events and transition information.
· Help students arrive organised and ready to learn.

Term 4 is always busy, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how much we have achieved together.
Our students are learning, our community is growing, our facilities are improving and our school continues to move forward with purpose.
Thank you for your continued support, positivity and belief in Langy Park.
Let’s make Term 4 another great chapter in our story.
Keep Sculpting the Future.
