Year 3 News
Did you know that red pandas spend much of their time in trees? Or that a tiger’s stripe pattern is as unique as a human fingerprint?
In Year 3, our students have been busy researching and writing information reports! Each student has selected an animal from the Royal Melbourne Zoo and explored its classification, habitat, diet and unique characteristics.
Throughout this learning, students have been developing topic-specific vocabulary, including classification, habitat, characteristics and adaptations, while learning how to organise their research into clear, informative paragraphs.
This learning connects with our STEM unit, Needs, Wants, Resources & Action, where students are exploring the needs of living things, their roles within ecosystems and how they interact with their environments.
It has been wonderful to see our Year 3 students developing their research and writing skills while discovering fascinating facts about the animal world!
