Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
Welcome back!
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all of our families enjoyed a restful and enjoyable break and that everyone has returned feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning.
Over the next ten weeks, our staff will continue working together to provide engaging learning experiences while supporting the wellbeing, growth and success of every student. We look forward to another rewarding term filled with learning, achievement and opportunities for our students to shine.
Road Safety
With the colder weather now well and truly upon us, I kindly ask all families to help keep our school community safe during drop-off and pick-up times. Please follow all parking signs and road rules, and if your child walks, rides or scoots to school, encourage them to use our supervised school crossings. Thank you for helping us create a safe environment for everyone.
2027 Foundation Enrolments
Planning is well underway for the 2027 school year, and we encourage families to submit Foundation enrolment applications by Friday 31 July 2026. Once enrolments have been received, families will be invited to participate in our comprehensive Kinder to School Transition Program, which begins early in Term 4 and helps children confidently prepare for their exciting start to primary school.
If you require an enrolment form or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our friendly Administration Team.
Join us for Assembly
We always enjoy celebrating the wonderful achievements of our students and warmly invite families to join us for our whole-school assembly this Friday at 2:30 pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to recognise student success and celebrate our learning together as a school community.
I look forward to another fantastic term working in partnership with our students, staff and families.
With best wishes,
Kylie Nissen.
