PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Good afternoon everyone.

Welcome to Term 4.

I hope everyone enjoyed some time off and enjoyed some spring weather and relaxing in preparation for the busy Term 4 that is ahead of us.

On our return to classes this week, I enjoyed catching up with students across the school, hearing all about holiday time.

Welcome back to Sarah Jeffreys, and thanks again to Louisa Blamires for stepping into the Acting Assistant Principal role in her absence.

We also thank Celeste Dawson for teaching Grade 6 over the past term.  As usual a seamless transition for students and the Grade 5/6 team.

We have the very exciting Colour Run this Friday and are very much looking forward to making a mess on the back oval.  The weather is looking like it is going to be warm, so a great day for some dye and water!!

Thank you to Elise for arranging this event and we look forward to seeing everyone on Friday that is able to come and join in with the fun.  Can we please remind parents that this is for our students only, younger siblings are unable to take part in the event and need to remain with parents outside the running arena.

Next Wednesday students in Grade Prep to 5 will be participating in a ‘Music of the World’ incursion here at school. This will be an engaging event and I look forward to seeing this in action.  Grade 6 however will be absent as they will be at Ferngully Lodge Camp in the Yarra Valley.  We wish them all the best for this, being their final primary school camp.

SAVE THE DATE – the spectacular Chilwell Art Show is fast approaching, and our budding artists will have work on display at the Boom Gallery on the 4th and 5th November.  More information to come.

We have a large number of Air Purifiers currently in storage that were delivered during COVID.  Whilst we cannot give these away, we are offering families the opportunity to borrow if you have a need for these at home.  A current staff member has these in her daughters’ bedrooms, and she believes this has assisted in the air circulation and supported challenges with congestion.

If you would like one of these, please contact the office, and Amber or Jacquie will arrange a time for you to collect.  We will also replace the filter prior to collection.

Pupil Free Days this term

Looking forward to the term ahead and look forward seeing everyone this week when in the yard.

Kind regards,

Meg
