eSafety Webinar Series for Parents and School Communities

The Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP) NSW invites school communities to attend their Term 3 Free Webinar for parents with the expert eSafety Commissioner team: 'Influencers, Ideology and Impacts - How algorithms influence and reinforce harmful beliefs'.

What is this webinar about?

Young people are constantly being shown videos, posts and content online based on what they have clicked on, watched or searched for. This webinar will explain, in simple terms, how these algorithms work and how they can sometimes lead young people towards harmful content, unhealthy ideas or stereotypes. The eSafety Commissioner team will share practical tips to help parents and carers understand what young people are seeing online and how to help them create safer, healthier and more positive online experiences.

Building Connections with Future Teachers!

Throughout 2026, ACS has continued to work in close partnership with the University of Notre Dame Australia and the University of New England, Armidale, creating valuable opportunities to connect with and support the next generation of teachers.

In the first week of September, we welcomed eight pre-service teachers on a tour of schools across our Diocese. Across the week, the students visited 12 schools, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wonderful opportunities available to both pre-service and early career teachers within our schools and communities.

The students were divided into two groups, with four students travelling through Uralla, Guyra, Glen Innes and Tenterfield, while the second group visited Inverell, Warialda, Moree, Mungindi, Narrabri and Gunnedah.

The experience was a wonderful opportunity for the students to see first-hand the diversity, opportunities and unique strengths of our schools. They were fascinated by what they experienced and expressed a strong interest in completing their professional placements within our Diocese and beginning their teaching careers in our schools.

The tour was about more than showcasing individual schools. We also took the opportunity to explore the systems and structures that underpin our wonderful schools and demonstrate how we work collaboratively across ACS to foster the best possible teaching and learning outcomes for our students.

The enthusiasm and interest shown by the students throughout the week was incredibly encouraging. It was a privilege to share our schools, communities and the many opportunities available across our Diocese with these young teachers.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnerships with the University of Notre Dame Australia and the University of New England and building on this engagement into the future. We also look forward to welcoming more pre-service teachers and providing our schools with further opportunities to showcase the rewarding and diverse career pathways available across our Diocese.
